State Trail
A linear park with miles of hiking, biking and horse trails.
State Recreation Area/Site (SRA/SRS)
A place with facilities that offers access to a variety of recreational pursuits.
State Natural Area/Site (SNA/SNS)
An outstanding natural resource that may offer opportunities to view unique plants and wildlife.
State Scenic Viewpoint/Corridor (SSV/SSC)
A scenic highway corridor or roadside spot that offers an outstanding view of natural features.
State Wayside
A small, sometimes isolated parcel of roadside land with a parking area, picnic tables and restrooms.
State Heritage Site/Heritage Area (SHS/SHA)
A site or area of historical, natural or cultural significance.

Except in hiker/biker areas, every campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, barbecue or camp stove.
All campgrounds have one or more of the following:
Full hookup
Sewer, electricity and water. Paved parking area adjacent to site. Convenient access to hot showers and modern restrooms.
Electrical
Electricity and water; paved parking adjacent to site. Convenient access to hot showers and modern restrooms.
Tent
No utilities, but water at or near the site; paved parking adjacent to site for self-contained RVs. Convenient access to hot showers and modern restrooms.
Primitive
No utilities, with one water source serving multiple sites, sometimes in a natural, cleared setting. Generally, there is not paved parking, but sites in most parks accommodate self-contained RVs. Primitive campsites also are available along the Willamette River Greenway, which runs from the upper dams south of Eugene to the river´s confluence with the Columbia River. You will need a boat to use them.
Walk-in tent
No utilities, but water is nearby. Sites are similar to regular tent sites, except they don't have individual parking.
Horse camps
Primitive campsites and corrals are available at seven parks: Bullards Beach, Cape Blanco, Emigrant Springs, Nehalem Bay, Silver Falls, Collier and Willamette Mission.
Hiker/biker
Open areas for walk-in, bike-in tent camping. Available at most coastal parks and at Champoeg, Clyde Holliday, Tumalo, Unity Lake, Milo McIver and Wallow Lake.
Yurts
Domed tent with structural support, a plywood floor, a lockable door, electricity, lights, heating and beds with mattresses (bedding not provided). No pets.
Cabins
Most are one-room structures, but it varies widely across the state. No pets.
Tepees
Canvas-covered structures with wooden supports, lighting, flooring and beds. Generally sleep 5-8. No pets.
Covered wagons
Sleep four. Beds and mattress, electricity and flooring. No pets.
